Robo Pets (the story of an AT-AT)

I admit I haven't been a big Star Wars fan since i was 12 but i still appreciate the series for the cultural behemoth it is. Here's a short (1 minute long) video of a day in the life of an AT-AT. You guys know I love robots and am dreaming of the day when i can have one as a pet/buddy/home security guard in a similar fashion as this. Enjoy.

Good Ass Day

Unless you have been under a rock the past few days you have heard the exciting news about the Good Music Fam. Rumor has it that on September 14th, 2010, Kanye will drop his highly anticipated 5th studio album Good Ass Job, Kid Cudi will release his sophomore effort Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, and rookie Big Sean will release his debut record Finally Famous. The news hit the Good Music Blog right around the time Yezzy took the stage at the BET Awards to perform his alleged first single from Good Ass Job, "Power".

Now surely I am not the first to question this marketing strategy. Wont this hurt the sales of all three albums? Mainly newcomer Big Sean who has yet to prove himself in regards to moving units? It's an interesting move that will raise quite a few eyebrows. Either way its very exciting news! Most notably for the fact that this may prove that Yezzy will stick with the album title we all know and love (there were rumors that it would be changed). Furthermore, there is a release date for three sure to be dope albums! Good music has arrived!!!

The Looks: Pharrell Williams

Most stylish people look to a few exceptional individuals for inspiration. When one is creating a "look" inspiration is quite possibly the most important factor. One of my personal style icon's is Pharrell Williams of the Neptunes. Williams has an extremely diverse sense of style and that's probably what I respect most. Furthermore, he isn't scared to take a risk with his fashion choices.
Whether he is draped in BAPE, laced in BBC, or hanging in Paris rockin Louis Vuitton, Williams is always classic. What I am mean by that is he owns whatever it is he wears. His personal touch brings something special to the outfit that no one else can. That great sense of style enabled Williams to create his own line, Billionaire Boys Club several years ago. As of today BBC remains a staple in the streetwear industry in the US and Japan.
We all know Skateboard P for his music. He has sold well over 75 million records and it seems to be a direct correlation with his fashion sense. Make an incredibly innovative product and the world will appreciate it and its creator for being something that we have never encountered before. Pharrell Williams is not only a music & fashion icon, but a cultural icon. May his style inspire yours.

X-Ray(ted) Calender

Pardon the cheesy pun, hehe. Here's an interesting concept in an industry where most everythings been done. Instead of the usual pictures of near naked models bent over a motorcylce/hot rod/jet ski; German Advertising Firm Butter created these images for japanese Medical Imaging firm Eizo. The concept is to show everything the models have. And I mean everything..down to the bone. Its x-ray (radiographic) pics of the models intended on showing off the high defintion monitors that Eizo sells. What do you think? Gives a whole new meaning to the term "show me what you've got".See all 12 pics here. I think May's my favorite. You guys know i like my tailbone's pointy :)

Fan(s) drop 27K to make Batman film

There are fans, and there are FANS. The ones that own memorabilia, get tatts and sleep in their mom's basement are one thing. But then there are the one's that really want to be Batman. Going as far as buying/making costumes & dropping $27,000 on making their own fanmade film.Batman:City Of Scars is a fan made flick shot in less than a month and on a budget of $27k (!?).My guess is most of the money went to costumes, and renting props/locations like the Ferrari and the Carnival fairgrounds. No one can say the Schoenke bros dont put their all into their craft.!
Now I love fan made films if they are done right and dont leave me with that "corny/cheesy" feeling. Like "The Hunt for Gollum" or the "Batman:Dead End." So i had to give this one a shot. Honestly, i dont think its too bad. Could've used a few better actors and i personally find it hard to take any Batman in tights seriously, call it "Adam West" syndrome if you will-but that's just me.I do
think this one is worth watching at least once if your a Batman fan or just curious. Check it out above.

There's an anti-rape, female condom with teeth. Eerily reminiscent of the campy/horror/black comedy movie aptly titled "Teeth". Actually I think its a genius idea and I'm surprised it hasnt been created sooner...via NYDailynews

Born In The USA

I have quite a few pair of kicks and Nike SB's take on a decent percentage of that inventory. I also have quite a few cds, none of which are E Street Band recordings. However, the combination of the two rolled into this shoe is where I can bridge the gap. Nike is dropping a limited edition shoe dedicated to "The Boss" himself, Bruce Springsteen.
The shoe is fashioned after Springsteen's "Born in the USA" album cover. Red & white stripes and blue denim make this shoe very patriotic and fresh to def! It will be released on July 3rd at the NJ Skateshop. So tell me, is there any better way to celebrate the 4th of July weekend than rockin a new pair of kicks to the barbeque of your choice while banging "Summertime" in your jeep? I think not...

the NEW "eBooks"

Part research lab, part think tank, French publishing house Les Editions Volumiques is a company that focuses on combining old media (print/books) with new technology in an effort to predict and advance the way we interact with the written word. Their projects include a book that disappears, a multi layered comic meant to be read top to bottom, a book that turns it's own pages and a really dope concept book/game called "Night of the living Dead Pixels" that interacts with your smartphone via QR Codes to trigger videos and game advancement.Their goal is to "enrich the tangible, emotional and intimate connection that paper brings with all the new dimensions of the digital world". As you know, anything that incorporates technology with something ndecidedly "non-tech" gets my attention. And when your name is as cool as "Les EditionsVolumiqes", you get my vote as well!
